My name is Rachel (she/her) and I’m a multiracial Asian American Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #135309) and I have known from a young age that I wanted to be in some kind of “helping” profession. I spent most of my childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area but have since bounced around, completing my Bachelor’s Degree at University of Washington in Seattle and completing my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University. As an AMFT, I have worked in a variety of settings, such as community mental health, at schools, and nonprofits, serving children, adolescents, young adults, parents, and families.

As a therapist, I aim to be client-centered and collaborative in my approach. I work to create a compassionate and open space in therapy where we’re able to work towards goals as a team! I believe that you are the expert of your life and experiences, and I hope to meet clients where they’re at to walk alongside them and help them to make the changes they’re looking for in their lives. I believe that therapy, ultimately, needs to work for YOU. Just as no two people are the same, therapy approaches cannot be the same for each person. I work to tailor my approach to the diverse needs of every client. Let’s find what works best for you together!

I love doing this work because it allows me to join others in some of the most vulnerable, challenging, and joyous aspects of one’s life. Helping to facilitate connection and community in my client’s lives is one of the most important things I do as a therapist. Having the opportunity to laugh, cry, and cheer with clients as we go through the therapeutic journey together is my passion and what keeps me grounded in this work.
